UX/UI Designer

You will design product interfaces for United States, Canadian and European software clients as part of a nearshore product pod, working fully remotely from anywhere in Colombia.

Responsibilities

  • Design product interfaces from wireframe through high-fidelity, for web and mobile
  • Conduct and synthesise user research where the engagement includes it
  • Build and maintain design systems and component libraries in Figma
  • Produce prototypes for testing and stakeholder alignment
  • Collaborate directly with client product managers and engineers on requirements and feasibility
  • Participate live in product ceremonies: standups, planning, design critique
  • Prepare developer-ready handoff with specifications, tokens and states
  • Ensure designs meet accessibility standards, targeting WCAG 2.2 AA
  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics and engineering constraints
  • Maintain design documentation to a standard the client team can operate
  • Contribute to the pod's design quality and mentor junior designers where relevant

Requirements

  • Native or equivalent Spanish
  • English at CEFR B2 or above, assessed before offer, as the role is client-facing
  • Three to five years in product, UX or UI design with a portfolio of shipped work
  • Strong Figma proficiency, including components, variants and design systems
  • Demonstrable understanding of interaction design, information architecture and usability
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards
  • A reliable home working setup
  • Valid Colombian ID or work permit, located in Colombia

Preferred

  • Experience with design systems at scale
  • Familiarity with front-end constraints: React, design tokens, responsive behaviour
  • User research and usability testing experience
  • Motion or prototyping tooling: Framer, Principle, After Effects
  • English at C1
  • Prior experience embedded in a distributed product team
